Not going to complain about simple facts about doing business as some things you simply cant control, but how you treat your customers is 100% on you. I do expect to be treated with a certain level of customer service. Unfortunately I had to deal with a Leonard Oliphant here today who had to have been the worst front desk person I have ever encountered. Who uses terms to a paying customer like, "That's how it is" and "you've been served, you're done here" and "your contract with us is over" when trying to get clarification about charges. I got the entire conversation recorded on my phone if Avis corporate wants to reach out and hear it for themselves. Take your money elsewhere

Do not rent from this location. We got there and were told they wouldn't have a car for us for at least two hours over the time reserved. Leonard (who doesn't know the concept of customer service) didn't seem to care and said his job was to get cars there. I'd say he's failed at that. Other customer waiting has same situation so Leonard sent him to restaurant that he recommends a lot for people while they are waitIng. I'm Avis president club and they've lost a customer. I'm on my way to airport to pick up car from Hertz.

Avis needs to either oust this degenerate owner and replace him or shut this location down immediately.

If 0 stars was an option, I would have given them 0. BUYER BEWARE!!!! I rented a car for one day that the tire blew out on and ran off the road and was totaled. I got a police report, towing report, everything and brought it in the next morning and notified them as well as obtained the form for the full coverage insurance (which I purchased through the Avis location). They proceeded to charge me almost $900 for a three week rental. I have spent the last month calling customer service, waiting on hold, being transferred 10+ times, etc. I finally was able to get a hold of the manager/owner of the location from which I rented it (this one) today. Once I explained the situation to him and told him I wanted my money refunded he first said he thought I had called the wrong place so I confirmed, "This is Avis on Meeting Street, right", and he answered yes, he pretended that he couldn't hear me and then hung up on me. I ended up having to call the fraud department at my credit card company to get the money credited.

I reserved a suburban over a month before the reservation date. On the pick up day Muhammed from fleet management called 15 minutes after the reservation time to see what cars they needed and said they would be on the way. After 5 unanswered phone calls to Muhammed and TWO HOURS LATER they show up with a standard size Navigator that they assured us was an XL version. The owner has phoned in the operation and could have cared less that they could not deliver the car to us. The icing on the cake is that the owner did not have the decency to cancel the reservation and Avis was going to charge us a $150 no show fee. Be leary of any business that puts the word Budget on their building and steer clear of this place.

Awful experience. I rented the car and paid online including insurance, called corporate to confirm that everything was ok. They said it was. I get there and they have no cars. They then said I could buy a cab to the airport or west Ashley one, the lady explained that I should not listen to Avis HQ and that I should always call local because HQ doesn't know what is going on as they are all independantly owned. By this time i was very frustrated the West Ashley Avis was a block from my house that said it was closed online. So I Uber downtown then all the way back to West Ashley ($50) to where I got another car. I was upset and explained to the west Ashley Avis what had happened. The woman was rude and told me not to listen to the downtown Avis as they aren't the same owner either! So they had no car reservation for me and no insurance for my car. They luckily had a car that I rented for a second time had to pay twice and get horrible service. Never dealing with Avis again
