We booked a car through Alamo and will continue to anytime we are in Charleston!!! They went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us. The shuttle was outside of the airport waiting, about a 10 min drive to the store and we were in a vehicle within 10minutes. The price was great, everyone in the store(and the shuttle bus driver) was so funny and nice. We are going on a cruise and they said when we get back that they would shuttle us back to the airport. We are beyond happy with this Alamo location!
My mother in law set up her car rental a month ago, got the confirmation, everything. They told her to come at 5pm to pick it up, and sure enough we come at 5 to get it, and they are closed. Not a single light on. She calls to find out why they told her to pick it up at 5pm if they arent even opened, and they tell her sorry maybe we can try the airport Alamo, but no, that one closes at 2pm on Thursdays. Nobody offered to fix the issue, or any real help in general, basically they just said spend more money to go somewhere else. The customer service rep we first got was sweet, but she couldn't do anything, so the call was escalated and nothing was accomplished. The whole experience was awful. We wont be renting, well trying to rent, a vehicle through Alamo again. Enterprise won our business tonight.
We recently rented a car at the Alamo Car Rental at CHS airport. Addam assisted our rental in a very professional and courteous manner. We were set up with a car that exactly filled our request. Our return at the airport was also done quickly and accurately. Thanks for the great service!
I rented a vehicle from Alamo for pickup on November 7 at the Atlanta Hartsfield- Jackons Intl airport. As booked, return was for November 18 to Alamo at the Charleston, SC Intl airport. I plugged the address given to me for the Alamo rental facility at 2039 Savannah Hwy, Charleston into my GPS and showed up only to be told I was to have dropped the rental off at the airport at the Enterprise facility. This lack of info caused me an extra hour of driving and frustration! When I got out at the Alamo facility, I was met with folks acting as if I should have guessed? known? that I was to go to the airport and drop my rental off with Enterprise instead of what was dictated on the form generated by the Alamo rental office. ?????????
everything was great there was a confusion on where to return the car since we were flying out and we had wrong information. We had an amazing shuttle driver name Judy she was really attentive and helpful and got us to the airport safe and fast. Thank you Miss Judy
For anyone thinking renting from Alamo at the Charleston, SC airport, beware! The site is 25 MINUTES from the airport and apparently rental clients are to figure out, on their own, where to drop off the rental.
No one hardly looked up from their computers at the check-in desk at 2039 Savannah Hwy, and certainly no one made me feel any better about the situation.... I was also told the shuttle was no longer running even though the office was to be open another hour+.
I surely won't be interested in renting ever again from Alamo.
I got back in my car and drove in traffic to the airport and was greeted with a very apologetic Enterprise agent. He said he felt terrible about being given incorrect info and causing an hour of extra driving.
