DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET. I do not recommend this place. After spending nearly 500 dollars, I was referred to another vet clinic who could possibly figure out what was wrong with my pet. The vet seemed nice but did not seem very interested in helping beyond charging for multiple tests that resulted in nothing. The front desk receptionist, Joy, is terribly rude and condescending both on the phone and in person. I can't imagine having to deal with her each day. I spent a ton of money here, and asked if I could bring my pet back for a mini emergency checkup the morning of my referral appointment and Joy insisted they were too busy, no time, and disregarded me.
As a business owner myself I know how important it is to have front desk employees who represent you well. I'm not sure what the deal is over there. The vet herself is a nice person. Gone are the days where you can call your local vet and talk to them on the phone. Daniel Island vet is very good at processing your credit card payment, however. Having recently moved to the neighborhood I was hoping this would be a good place to use for my pet but I'm afraid I won't be going back.
A very compassionate staff, Missy and Dr. Flood came to my apartment promptly and showed genuine care for my poodles. They provided all the vaccines, prophylaxes, and medications for my poodles (Samantha had heartworms but not now! She was successfully treated by Dr. Flood). I am very grateful for the visit I had from these two ladies and their special ambulance which proudly displayed their services. I can't say enough how proud I am to recommend their services the disabled like me and the elderly. Samantha and Thurston, my two poodles, also thank them!
I never write reviews for locations, but I figured I needed to do so for this experience. I found a stray cat and didn't really know what to do with it. The next morning I took it over to this vet and they were more than happy to help me. Luckily the cat had a chip! They contacted the chip company, and then the cat's owner. Then... they allowed me to borrow a cat carrier to return the cat. I don't have pets but if I did, I would use this vet. Anyone who brings their pets here should know this location actually cares enough to reunite a lost pet's homeowner - giving time and expertise for free to a stranger!
My dogs have been seeing Dr Hosking for about 2 years and I'm very pleased with his knowledge and care for our animals. The wait to get an appointment is short and when you arrive they are always quick to get you seated in a room. They have a 'membership' that offers some discounts as well.
I ended up rushing my pet to Dr Patrick whose clinic is downtown. They do walk ins only. Dr Patrick was absolutely amazing. He is highly experienced, and professional. It turns out my pet was blocked and not diagnosed properly by Daniel island vet clinic. Dr Patrick cleared him out quickly and effectively, in essence saving his life. They offer all services on-site and won try to rip you off or refer you to someone else. They don't make vet clinics this great anymore. Dr Patrick is HIGHLY recommended.
The mobile vetranary clinic comes to the apartment building I live in every 6 months. It is a dwelling for the elderly. Thanks to Dr. Flood (and staff) our pets get good care that most of us couldn't afford. Thanks from all of us!
