I have had to use Charleston Veterinary Referral Center many times. I keep going back because they are my go to after hours and for emergencies that my vet cannot handle. I trust and respect their work 100%!
I hate that my only experience with them was a sad and upsetting one, but if you ever need care for your pet don't hesitate to send them here. They are up front and honest about everything (even pricing) and I'm grateful that Tanks last few hours with us was in their care.

Had to make a quick evening trip with a seemingly sick kitty (he ended up being fine). This was my first visit and I could not have loved this place more. Everything about it was first class, five stars all the way. From being completely immaculate to the kindness shown by every employee here! I live in a different town with no emergency vet care and had to travel here but trust me if I lived closer this would definitely be my vet!
We had to take our sweet Clumber Spaniel Tank to CVRC after our vet suggested that we take him there for overnight observation (we didn't know what happened but he ended up having a stroke the day before). We were greeted by the friendliest staff. And the facility is probably the nicest vet office I have ever been to. Sadly after hours of working with Tank we had to make the incredibly hard decision to put him down. I can't tell you how warm and accommodating they were. They gave us a private room so we could have our last moments with him. They really take their job to the next level of care and bedside manner. They then placed him in his coffin and wrote his name and a sweet poem on there for us.
Brought our dog Stella here when she had an anaphylaxis to an unknown allergen. Staff was immediately able to support and provide medical treatment. Staff members were very friendly and efficient. On site Doctor was thorough in explaining what was going on and what options we had for treatment. We hope to never have to come back for an ER visit, but are thankful knowing that CVRC provides top quality care!
What a great facility! We had quite a wait but I could see and hear the emergencies that were coming in and understood completely. They kept me posted on my dog’s condition so I was not overly anxious while waiting. The entire staff, from start to finish, was professional and friendly. I am comforted knowing they are close by should an emergency arise.
