The food was average at best. The service was terribly slow and they did not get the order correct. They served a vegan olive tampenade on toast with Brie cheese on it instead of the olive tampenade. The stated special at the entrance was not available at all--the server had no idea what we were even asking for. They ran out of baguettes by 6pm. How does a French restaurant run out of their staple bread.
Bar environment, but not a bar. Very small and quite. Not sure if they take reservations, but would be hard to get in to eat when buysy.
This restaurant was very cute. It was a quick and small place to have brunch with my friend and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff is speedy and kind. The food was really good and reasonably priced. It was a little tough to park but it could be because the Dylan Roof trial was happening so the area was swamped. The food was really good and I remember getting a small iced coffee with a wonderful chicken sandwich. When I come back to Charleston I will make sure to come back for another sandwich!
Got the hot ham croissant and soup was a beef an lamb with red French wine. Good food, lamb and beef soup was smooth. The croissant was split with mild bree on one side with ham on the other. Nicely toasted
Nice, little spot close to the King's St. French inspired soups and sandwiches and good coffee. Broad selection of wines. Very nice staff. We really enjoyed it. May be little tight for some and be ready to wait.
Gaulart & Maliclet is one of my favorite cafès downtown! It's so cozy. It makes me feel sort of like I'm in a Wes Anderson film. The menu is extremely affordable and delicious. The croissants are must-try's! Oh, also tipping is not allowed!
