Kris McDonagh is an amazing, caring, professional agent. She always had our best interests at heart and was in this for the long haul. I started out with a credit score in the high 400's in Oct 2016. My husband's was a bit better but not much. Kris assured me that we could reach our goal of home ownership because of the Jeff Cook Real Estate team. She immediately put me in touch with Brett McDonald from Tabor Morgage. Brett sent me over to Sheryl James with SC Home Buyers Club and we began rebuilding our credit. In the beginning we were going for a VA loan as my husband was serving in the Army National Guard. Tragically, we lost my husband, Rob, in April 2017. Kris, Brett, and Sheryl were still there for me to make sure I could become a first time home buyer. I received word from Brett that I was preapproved for a home loan on what would have been my husband's 50th birthday. Two days later, Kris lined up houses that I wanted to look at. That am, a house located in my family's neighborhood came on the market and Kris immediately got us in to see the home as the last on our list. Mind you, Kris was on maternity leave, but still took me to look at homes. I knew in a few minutes it was my home. And, as you can imagine, it was very emotional for me. Kris was right there to let me cry on her shoulder. I will always be eternally grateful that Kris was with me at that moment. But it didn't stop there. Kris made sure that when she put in the offer that she also included a personal note to the sellers to make sure I got the house. This made a huge difference as there were other offers. Also, Kris has given me the contact info for my painters, pest control, and security system reps. Not to mention she assured me that my home inspector and everyone I have come in contact with during this process was backed by Jeff Cook Real Estate. This took a lot of stress off of me. It also made a huge difference to have Kris and my daughter at my side when I closed on the home. Kris gave me a sweet and loving card that means everything to me. My husband's Army National Guard battalion is coming to move me in this Saturday, 8 July 2017. This is a bittersweet time in my life. I never thought I'd be moving without the love of my life of almost 33 years. But I am and Kris and her family will be the first invited to celebrate along with my family once I am settled.
Jay was very patient, responsive, and fun to work with. His knowledge of the area was very helpful. We made offers on three homes. The terms of the first offer were not acceptable to the seller. Our offer on the second house was accepted, but we rejected the house because our home inspector found a structural issue we did not want to tackle. On the third house, with Jay’s professional and persistent approach, we negotiated back and forth and finally cinched a deal. We greatly appreciated his thoroughness in helping us find a house we now call our home!
