Small and quiet. The grad student is usually free to answer any questions. You won't sirens an afternoon here but definitely can kill a few hours for nothing but a donation.
History rocks! Prices are a bit high but no big deal. Museums can get old (haha) but not when they rotate exhibits like this one. It is kid friendly and very informative. Also, if you bring your kids, there will be enough to keep you involved as well.
Great place to take children, lots of dinosaur bones. It is free.
It's a great little Hidden Gem in the heart of Charleston. Not to mention it's free! They have a lot of cool skeletons and some really cool fossils that really show some of the interesting life that was around Charleston a long time ago.
Mace Brown Museum of Natural History was such fun! They have an extensive exhibit and informative student/staff. It was a perfect way to spend a hot summer day indoors :)
