Dr Hurley saved my life because of his proactive approach and intuition. He has always been very attentive to my unusual health history and if it weren't for that I would have just been given antibiotics and sent on my way. The day he looked at me and said I want a cat scan because "your weird, and it's never what we think" led to an emergency admission to the hospital and surgery that would have otherwise killed me in less than 2 days. I am greatful there are doctors out there that are so very talented and have kept every ounce of their humanity. I will never have another physician for myself or my children as long as he is in practice. Hopefully forever...

Dr. Hurley is an amazing primary care practitioner who is beyond thorough in his care. My family has seen him for years, and he has made multiple house calls to ensure the best care for my father in particular, who has Cerebral Palsy and Asthma. Once, when I had been irresponsible and needed a physical to be completed and signed by 8am the next morning, he allowed myself and my mother to come to his home just so that he could complete the forms for me in the evening on his own time.
He cares very much about each individual patient, their story, their background, and their families. Every time I have even a slight medical concern, I can call or text him and he will respond to me almost immediately. I have sent him anything from pictures of abrasions and infections to descriptions of various symptoms, and he has let me know whether or not my condition is serious enough to come in to the office. If it is not, he will direct me to the necessary steps towards a solution and call in any needed prescriptions. This is especially helpful when I am traveling; once when I was in Colorado for a cousin's wedding, I had severe throat pain and swollen tonsils. I spoke with him and he directed me to go in to an urgent care, then told me which of their recommended prescriptions I should take based on their test results, and gave me additional guidelines for a quicker recovery.
Dr. Hurley stands out among other doctors because of his shear expertise. He has an outstanding character and respectable morals that carry through to his work. Most notably, he cares more about a patient's health, not their symptoms. He's not quick to right a prescription, but instead he's focused on your OVERALL well-being, and that goes a long way for me.
Dr. Hurley has been my doctor for over 11 years now. I had been looking for a family doctor for almost 3 years after my family's move to Charleston. I consider myself very fortunate to have found his medical practice through the referral of a close family friend. From day one, Dr. Hurley has lived up to the high expectations I had of him. He is always courteous, professional, and completely involved in my personal health. At each visit, he's very thorough in reviewing my health history with me. If there are any test results, he goes over each and every one of them, identifying both the good and the bad to me and noting what I can do / must do to manage my health better. He's been the best family doctor I've ever had. And at 62 yrs of age, I've known many over the years. I'm either blessed or extremely lucky to have found him.
He is always there to provide care, even when I have not come in to appointments regularly. Overall, he is a fantastic, personable and caring physician.
He's said that if you take care of yourself, everything else will follow. That's certainly true in most cases, but even in cases where you need a prescription, he recognizes that and knows what's right. He's certainly the best doctor I've ever visited.
I have known Dr. Hurley for 3 years and I am very impressed with his family practice. I am not one to visit a doctor regularly but the very few unfortunate instances I had to, I've been to his office and my experience was excellent! Dr. Hurley has an incredible array of knowledge in the field of medicine and is very personable. He remains available at all hours of the day as well as in the evening. This is atypical of many doctors I've had in the past... His experience is unmatched and from that he provides insight on health-related issues and is not quick to simply write a prescription.
