At any rate, do NOT trust Royal Parking with your vehicle, and if you are unlucky enough to have your vehicle damaged by their valets, make sure you file a police report; and perhaps get the FBI, your insurance company, and the mafia involved if you want to have the damage on your vehicle covered by this ridiculously unprofessional company. /rant.
My vehicle was damaged during an evening out in downtown Charleston. I literally watched the valet move my car around the small parking lot roughly 20 times during the course of dinner (we had a table upstairs next to a window), and repeatedly ding my door with other customers' vehicles. I brought this up to the management at the restaurant as well as the Royal Parking management and they assured me it would be handled.
UPDATE: I recently noticed that there was a response to this review from the manager, Frank Robey. While this was originally posted two years ago, I would like to inform the general public that his response is completely inaccurate and unfounded. I am not surprised by this, as I received nothing but lies when dealing with Royal Parking, and Frank Robey in particular. I would advise anyone to think twice before doing business with this company or using their services. Highly unethical, unprofessional, and worst of all; knowingly deceptive. My original review is below, and is an accurate representation of events.
After filling out the claim form and being coaxed into believing that Royal Parking was a respectable company and would fix my vehicle, they have now said they will be denying my claim because no police report was filed and the valet denies the damage. Is it just me, or don't the police have better things to do than file reports about door dings? I find this to be extremely outrageous and supremely poor business practice - especially when the management (and several other guests of the restaurant) personally witnessed everything that happened. Of course the valet is going to deny damaging the vehicle; I would too if my job were on the line.
If you see the Royal Parking sign, turn around and find another valet to take care of your car.
