I was so happy to see a local hardware store a short drive from my house and went out of my way, despite rush hour, to replace a lost bolt for my Christmas tree stand. I show up thinking the hours posted on Google and Apple Maps are correct only to see I was 45 minutes too late at 6:45 with two employees inside waving me on to leave. Had I known they didn’t close at seven, as posted, I would have saved the trip and gone on to the big box stores down on Magwood. If you’re in West Ashley and it’s after work don’t bother I guess.
I have had great experiences with West Ashley True Value, the staff is always friendly and polite. Half the time I am in there the owner himself assists me with finding what I need. They can also special order products that are not carried by the big box home retailers. And I must note that their boat trailer selection is pretty expansive and way cheaper than shopping at west marine down the street.
