I never leave reviews good or bad, but felt people should be warned in this case.
Bought a few couches and a table from Goodwood. Delivery drivers hit our new house upon delivery, damaging the trim and gutters. After this happened, the drivers made my wife very uncomfortable because the one was mad at the other for directing him into the house, yelling at him and such.
When I came home the couches still had plastic around the legs which they never took off. A few nights later we had people over and one of the chairs for the table almost collapsed. They did not tighten one of the chairs at ALL. I mean literally at all! How do their drivers forget this?!?!?!
To top it all off, the delivery drivers told us they would pay us for the damages. We came up with 150, which is very fair given the damages. They told us to deal with them because their boss would just make them take care of it anyway. I thought this was BS and called the store. Sure enough, when I called the store they just pushed me back to the driver instead of taking care of us. My wife spent another few weeks getting in touch with the guy but he stopped picking up her cals. When my wife threatened to call the store during a voicemail to talk to his boss saying he was ignoring us, he called her back and told us he would come by on Sunday 9am one of these past weekends. Oh but guess what, dude never showed up.
Had a great experience with Goodwood. Family run, i dealt with Vince and his wife. They helped me and my father in-law purchase a beautiful wood bookcase and rolling top desk that we wanted to put a unique finish on,. Quality of the product was top notch and didn't break the bank. It was nice dealing with a locally owned business. Thank you Vince and Kathleen!
My wife then had to then go up to the store to get them to actually pay us! Finally we got our money, but my wife told me they were very unapologetic.
Good Wood save me trip to Charlotte's IKEA. I bought in their store very nice dininig table, IKEA style. And also great customer service. Good Wood is strongly recommended.
I went to Good Wood to buy some milk paint for a deacon's bench that my kids bought me. We were greeted almost immediately and asked if we needed any help. I told them what I was there for and, as I had already found the stuff I was just deciding what color I wanted. The sales rep told me to just let him know if I needed any help. I got my paint and then looked around at the other furniture. I always like to look at the furniture even if I'm not planning on buying anything right now. When I got ready to check out, I got help right away and the sales rep gave me some pointers on using the paint and recommended a non-yellowing top coat also. I was very pleased with my service. Can't wait to go back once they get their expansion done!
Loved this place! Simple, low key, finished and unfinished outings for the best prices. Right now (6/2017) everything is 50% off full retail and all solid wood. If you purchase unfinished, finishing costs are very reasonable. We've been to nearly every furniture store around Charleston and for solid wood, contemporary casual, no one beats their prices right now for real wood. Even their full retail are competitive and we will check them out first next time! (4-6 weeks to order what you want) They have some custom & Amish-made and can work with you for your own custom ideas.)
