Everyone was polite and treated me with respect.
Got there at 8:20, 15 people in line outside already. They opened the doors to let us begin taking numbers at 8:30. Began calling numbers at 9, I was with an agent in 5 minutes. It could not have gone any better.
My assigned agent was helpful, thorough, kind, and polite. Keep up the good work Ms. Jones.
I begrudgingly had to go to the social security office on of all days Friday the 13th. I waited a couple of minutes before I was seen by a friendly and helpful gentleman! Stress free experience.
I walked in the door and applied for a replacement social security card and was walking back out the door in ten minutes.
I went to this office on 5/18/17 to file an appeal. I spent 1 1/2 hrs with a rep. She "argued" with me, during most of this time, that I was wrong. She also stated that I should NEVER call the main SSA office because they give out incorrect infomation all the time. HA! She gave me her name (first initial only) and her phone number and instructed me to call in 2-3 weeks for the answer. It should have been straight forward. I have called several times and left messages, none of which have ever been returned. Also, the extention she gave me wasn't even for her! Every time I have ever called the US SSA the information I received was always correct. But when I go to this office they've always screwed it up and I would end up going back and refiling unnecessarily accordiing to the "big" SSA. I called again today. The person who answered never identified herself even when I asked her for her name! She asked for my SS number and then transferred me to someone whose name is unknown. I left yet another message but I'm very frustrated. It's no wonder no one trusts the government! This local agency is a prime example of incompetence.
While the movement through and help received was fluid, it was flawed. Told that stamped letter from office concerning replacement card for my daughter's lost card would be accepted at the SCDMV so she could get her learner's permit. NOT SO!!! Wasted 1/2 hr in DMV line to be told that letter has not been accepted in nearly 2 years. Actual card a MUST! NO communication between Fed and State Agencies? Disappointed teenage citizen versus elated illegal alien with forged documents? Get a grip people, do your jobs!
They all have their game together.
I was a little apprehensive about my first ever visit to this office based on some of the reviews.
