West Ashley is a hidden jewel that people often overlook. My personal experience is my children thrived at the school. My oldest actually started out at a charter school in a neighboring community. It was a bit of a drive but I thought I was making the best decision for my child. People were telling me, "you don't want to go to West Ashley." Well, my child went to the charter and had a horrible experience. There is more to a good school than what's on paper and what's in a sales pitch. I felt like an outsider myself. We transferred to our home school, West Ashley. Best decision we ever made. My children were honor students and were active in sports and drama. I felt the school had a more rounded curriculum from culinary to engineering to AP to whatever. My children, especially my oldest, found a family. Here's the kicker. The people saying you don't want to go there, have never stepped foot on campus. If you live in West Ashley and are looking for a great school, the school is in your back yard on Wildcat Blvd. West Ashley High School.
Horrible, never go here
If I were you I wouldn't go to this freaking school. I came here my freshman year and I was just a peaceful guy trying to go with the flow and next thing you know I have a bunch of guys ganging up on me because some people think that I'm a "rapist". Yep. Some kid hated me so he just went around telling people that I'm a rapist and lord knows i would never freaking rape anybody, i should've told my counselor about that or something but I wouldn't go here if i were you. People accused me of being a rapist and that is a BLATANT lie, people wouldn't even sit by me and people give me dirty looks now as a result. Someone even threw my bookbag in the DUMPSTER, during lunch period one time! So don't go to this stupid trash school, this school should be called "west trashley high school", does not deserve the name Ashley. If it was possible I'd give this school negative -2 stars, people have a freaking attitude all the time but that's pretty much normal with any school/place so nvm that.
