I loved staying at the Vendue. The atmosphere was very creative and artistic. The rooms are all unique. Ours had exposed brick wall. Visiting the rooftop bar was definitely a treat. All the employees are so very nice, and do not hesitate to greet you when they see you. There is a Starbucks inside the main building where guests get free coffee. And did I mention the complimentary sherry in the room? Great experience. Would definitely stay here again!
I live in New Orleans now but am from Charleston and recently got engaged so me and my fiancé decided to come visit Charleston to celebrate with friends and family and to just visit home. We stayed at The Vendue and it was perfect. Beautiful room where we could see Waterfront Park right outside our window. Was walking distance to beautiful restaurants, art galleries, The Battery, and the the Market. It was the Charleston I remember growing up in and we had a wonderful weekend. The staff were very helpful, valet was great, and if I wasn't from Charleston they were very knowledgable of great things to do in Charleston. A little on the expensive side but it absolutely worth it.
Our room was very clean, well furnished & fantastic service. GREAT location in the middle of the French Quarter, 1 block from the waterfront. Rooftop bar, has lunch & dinner items available. The Drawing Room restaurant on site for breakfast & dinner. Nice complimentary items courtesy of the hotel; glass of champagne upon check-in, sherry in the room, fresh chocolate chip cookies & milk put out each night, complimentary turn down service. Would definitely stay there again!
Wonderful visit. All meals in drawing room were delicious. Rooftop bar was a great time, enjoyed meeting Julian and Gunny. Good location to sites we wanted to see. Only complaint is room was a little damp but it was very humid during our visit, room perfect otherwise. Hope to be able to return soon.
The location is great, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The staff is spectacular very attentive, super helpful. Unfortunately can't say the same thing for the accommodations. Hotel is very old, I know that's part of the charm but the rooms are tiny, The rooms have single pane glass so very hard to maintain consistent temp in room. The toilet was broken so I had to constantly take back cap off to flush. Shower door handle was very loose and hard to shut. The seal around the balcony door was hanging and not functional so air and noise blew right through. We were in room 216 right over the rear exit for restaurants so every morning at 4:30 the trash truck showed up and jolted us out of bed! Complained that would have been nice to know about this room before we spent 700 dollars for 2 nights but fell on deaf ears.
