Highly recommend the South Carolina Aquarium. It is very well run. Took the family (2 kids - 6 and 4), 5 year old cousin, and the grandparents. All had a great time. When buying your tickets, ask about the"behind the scenes tour." It's free and so worth doing - for all ages. Every staff member we encountered was very nice and helpful, but I'd especially like to thank our tour guide, Bob. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, personable, and just great with the kids. He made our trip a special one.
Great aquarium! We've been several times when we visit family near Charleston, and it's always fun for the family! Nice, clean facility, excellent staff! Highly recommend!
Charming little aquarium with informative exhibits on the local fauna and environment. The sea turtle nursery is a particular delight, the staff give tours explaining how they’ve found, rescued, and rehabilitated the animals in their care. My only gripes are that the price is pretty steep for a smallish space and there isn’t much in the way of food offerings. These are minor quibbles though.
It’s a place where you would like to come back. Good for family time, relaxing and learning something new. I highly recommend for locals a membership, it will pay back.
Amazing aquarium! Best ever! We got invited on a behind the scenes tour to the top of the tank. The deepest in North America!
